Campaign to Save ESUT
Enugu State University of Science and
Technology,
Enugu.

The Pro
Chancellor
Enugu State University of Science and
Technology,
Enugu.
Dear Sir,
LETTER
OF INTRODUCTION
We congratulate you on your
decision to introduce yourself to the university community and enumerate in
summary your vision for our institution. We are glad that you highlighted
retrospectively your efforts in, and relationship with ESUT, since 1995.
Moreso, we are glad that you made your doors wide open physically and
electronically to all stakeholders in ESUT to come in with advice, suggestions
and criticisms that will see to the growth and progress of ESUT. To all these
you said, we can assert without fear of any contradiction that we share in your
vision and promise to collaborate objectively.
Sir, just like you, we were
disturbed with various bad testimonies about ESUT, some frivolous, while others
diabolically monstrous. To this therefore, as stakeholders, we set ourselves on
a voyage of discovery to ascertain the veracity of all the tales about ESUT. It
was in that process that we discovered that the ESUT website is not functional
and as we write, the official e-mail of the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice
Chancellor, Council and others except that of the Registrar are not functional.
It was in the process of this review that we reviewed the Engineering Faculty
website.
However, on tour of the
Engineering Faculty website, we discovered so many disturbing elements that
made us to ask questions to ascertain the causes of all the anomalies and
claims which we discovered were no where to be found. That was how Prof
Sylvester Ike Oluka became a symbol of “Despotism
and Corruption” as revealed from our investigations. This is what resulted
in series of letters, complaints and reports we have written principally about
Prof S.I. Oluka and other anomalies in ESUT.
We have taken this pain to
intimate you sir, with our activities over this period to show that the overall
objective is to ensure a better ESUT that everyone will be proud of. In
addition, our aim is to save the staff and students of ESUT from manacles of
oppression and intimidation.
Furthermore, this
introduction is written to dispel the insinuations and propaganda of all those
who are by their actions and inactions, mostly inimical to ESUT, are employing
every means to shut out our voices and opinions.
Having introduced ourselves
and our objectives, we shall therefore forward to you all our writings so far
on ESUT. We are of the opinion sir, and we want to believe that the underlying
interest of your intervention in ESUT is to build a culture of civility,
justice, equity, truth, qualitative standard and best practices of excellence
in education, learning and human relations.
We pray that God will give
you the wisdom and courage to do right always.
Best wishes!
God bless ESUT.
